This is how we came to be

| Giselle and Molly |
Molly and Giselle come from very different parts of the world. Molly is Syrian but born in the UK and Giselle comes from Brazil. They have gravitated to Wolverton and their baby is The Carioca Café. Lucky Wolverton! Already this new enterprise is building up a flow of customers, which is not surprising, as the cakes are delicious and the coffee is good too.
The story of the café isn't a straight forward one but it does have a common thread. Both Molly and Giselle have had a life-long love of baking and that is very evident in the food on offer. They met through a mutual friend and now they have turned their hobby into a full-time job.
Giselle was originally a journalist in Brazil. She came to the UK in 2009 to join her family here in Milton Keynes. Here, she worked in the hospitality industry, serving in restaurants and later set up a home-based business making traditional Brazilian cakes - Brigadeiro. You can buy these in the café. So it is a logical step that she should become her own boss and open her own place.
Not only did Molly follow a very different path to becoming a café owner. She is a qualified pharmacist who is still studying to gain further qualifications in this field. Previously she worked in the retail sector as a manager as well. Being best of friends now, and having such a wide remit of talents has made it easy for both of them to set up Carioca.
For those local to Wolverton, this is another place to meet friends; have coffee; while away the time. Now you know who is serving you, say hello. Why not start a conversation with Molly and Giselle. We all know how Wolverton has such an inclusive community. Be part of it!
